DG: Hey guys! We wanna know what was the moment that made you want to become a music artist?
Endure Everything: There were a few times in my younger years that had inspired me to want to play music, one being my dad, but the push over the edge was the first time seeing the Smells Like Teen Spirit video on tv. That just blew my mind. I remember thinking “what is this?!” I was instantly hooked and it was in that moment I knew this is what I wanted to do.
DG: Do you think social media help or hurt music creators?
Endure Everything: I think social media is an incredibly powerful tool for artists and musicians. It can create amazing opportunities, open a lot of doors, also just having the ability to network and reach potential audiences worldwide without having to really leave the house is invaluable. The downside, depending on your prospective and how far you want to push your craft, is that it can be an absurd amount of work to keep up on and can be overwhelming, stressful, and very time consuming. You can lose focus on your goals and burn yourself out quite easily so finding the right balance between life, art creation and socials is very important, but all and all I see it as more help than hurting.
DG: Tell us about your most recent release?
Endure Everything: We have a 6 song EP out titled “A Light in Negative Spaces” and as the title suggests, is about finding peace and the strength to continue on after coming out of a very dark period in life.
DG: What excites you the most about your style of music?
Endure Everything: The emotional effect it has when I listen back on it.
DG: What does your writing style look like?
Endure Everything: The kid’s game Red Light Green Light
DG: Ha ha, alright! What are your thoughts on the Indie music scene so far?
Endure Everything: The indie music scene is intense. It is an incredibly supportive group of radio DJ’s, music fans, musicians, artists of all ages, across all genres, from all parts of the world, and all helping each other. It’s a crazy community. It’s really quite special.
DG: What has been the most surprising thing to happen to you this year?
Endure Everything: Endure Everything lol I honestly wasn’t really planning on releasing any music or even really launching this project at all and especially to capacity that it is now. The original idea was, I had a bunch of songs and demos spanning years of writing that I wanted to have a good version of and just wanted to keep for myself. Then a few friends kept encouraging me to release this material. So, I thought, “okay, let’s go!” Then all the pieces just kinda fell into place very quickly and things just kind of happened.
DG: Do you have any shows coming up in September, and how can fans come see you live?
Endure Everything: Nothing officially planned as of yet but we do occasionally do live streams from time to time on Facebook. We may do an official live stream show possibly later this year.
DG: What’s something that you wish happened more in today’s music industry?
Endure Everything: I wish it was easier for artists to make a reasonable living from their music.
DG: Who are you listening to right now, music-wise?
Endure Everything: The new Manson singles & The Fragile – Nine Inch Nails
